Victorian period, linked to the Sovereign's mourning for the death of her beloved husband, these pieces are much loved even today.
This ring is made of yellow gold, decorated with enamel plant racemes; the subject is truly unique: the face of a monkey, an animal which in ancient jewelery is rich in symbolic meanings and has a value of bringing good luck and good fortune. In fact, the monkey is very intelligent and wise.
In the back there is a small oval compartment with glass to contain a memory of your loved one. “JD Maddock 28 July 1864” is engraved on the inside of the shank in English cursive.
